Terry L. Smolich - Vice President Human Resources

Terry L. Smolich is Vice President of Human Resources for YPI and is responsible for all aspects of the human resources function. She brings to her role over 25 years of human resources experience, including 12 years in commercial real estate. Prior to joining the company in September 2009, Ms. Smolich served as First Vice President of Human Resources for Arden Realty, Inc, a Southern California-based owner of commercial office properties from 1995 to 2007. She served as a member of the management team that grew the company from a privately-owned real estate firm with 40 employees to a $5 billion publicly traded REIT with over 300 employees, almost 20 million square feet, and the largest landlord of office space in Southern California. Responsibilities at Arden included all aspects of human resources, payroll, training and employee development, and corporate administration. During her tenure Ms. Smolich implemented and managed a comprehensive employee benefits program, qualified and non-qualified benefit plans, an employee stock option plan, employee satisfaction and retention tools and developed Arden University, a comprehensive training and employee development program delivering targeted courses for more than 1,100 enrollees annually. She focused on streamlining processes and cost control by automating payroll and performance management systems, deploying web-based training and learning management systems for tracking and deploying training. She was a key member of the integration team during the acquisition of the company in 2006 by GE Real Estate. Ms. Smolich began her career in 1979 serving in administrative and human resources capacities for dynamic entrepreneurial companies including Cybertek Computer Products from 1979 – 1985; Softsel Computer Products (Merisel), 1985-1986; THOR Staffing Services from 1986 to 1993, and Tristar Risk management, from 1993 to 1995. She is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA).
